The Alpha process: safe enzyme soaking

Our approach to cast iron is gentle but highly effective, relying on dwell time rather than brute force.

• Hot enzyme bath: We removed the grates and submerged them in a specialized, heated enzyme degreaser bath. This safely breaks down the polymerized oils without attacking the cast iron.
• Precision detailing: While the grates soaked, we used non-scratch nylon detailing brushes to carefully clear the burnt debris from around the delicate gas igniters and burner caps on the stovetop.
• Matte finish restoration: After the soak, the grates were rinsed, thoroughly dried to prevent flash rusting, and lightly buffed to restore their original, clean matte black appearance.
